Anthropogeographer, naturalistic guide, scientific popularizer, he is also responsible for the protected natural areas of Sicily for the environmental association Legambiente, Italian representative of the IUCN.

Rocca di Cerere UNESCO Global Geopark has been recognized as a member of the EGN European network since 2001, since 2015 by UNESCO. It extends in the central southern area of the Enna region, in the center of the island of Sicily and includes a large part of the area affected by the geological deposits relating to the Messinian salinity crisis.
